Forest Green Rovers have recalled striker Jose Marquez from his season-long loan at National League rivals Worthing.

The 20-year-old has impressed with three goals and an assist in nine appearances in all competitions for the Sussex-based side.

All three of his goals have come in Worthing's last five league matches - he scored his final goal late on in the 3-1 win at Hartlepool on Saturday.

Marquez will bolster the Forest Green squad with Ricardo Rees ruled out with a long-term injury, while D'Mani Mellor and Kairo Mitchell are also unavailable due in international call-ups.

It is the second successful loan spell for Marquez - he scored three goals in four games while at National League South side Dorking Wanderers in November last year.

Aldershot Town winger Basil Tuma has been named in Malta's provisional 29-man squad for their upcoming international matches.

The 21-year-old joined the Shots this summer from Reading and has made eight appearances to help put them eighth in the table with 15 points.

Born in Uganda, Tuma represented his home country at the 2020 CECAFA Under-17 Championship before being called up for the Malta Under-19s in September 2022.

He made his senior Malta debut in October 2024, coming on as a half-time substitute to win a penalty and has won seven further caps.

Malta will play three UEFA Nations League fixtures over the next two weeks, beginning with a trip to Andorra on 24 September.

They host Liechtenstein in a friendly on 27 September, followed by two more Nations League matches.

Gibraltar visit on 1 October before the return home match with Andorra on 4 October.

National League side Barrow have strengthened their squad by signing midfielders Adrian Allen, who arrives on loan from Stockport County, and Corey Edwards.

Edwards, 19, was released by Rochdale in the summer after helping them win promotion to the EFL and rejected other offers to play first-team football with Barrow.

Allen, 19, who began his career at Everton's academy and had a spell with Rangers, joined Halifax Town in July and made four substitute appearances for the National League side before he was recalled by Stockport.

He made four appearances for League One Stockport last season, including his debut in August 2025 against Crewe Alexandra in the Carabao Cup.

Eastleigh have signed free agent goalkeeper Jamie Searle on a short-term deal.

The 25-year-old was most recently at Eastbourne Borough where he played eight times across all competitions.

Prior to that move, Searle spent time with Forest Green Rovers, Barnsley, Swansea and Aston Villa.

Scunthorpe United have signed Stockport County midfielder James Bailey on loan until January.

The 18-year-old joined the Hatters from Manchester United in the summer and has made one appearance.

He has been named on the bench for the Iron's home game in the National League against Boreham Wood on Wednesday.

National League strugglers Gateshead have signed Leyton Orient goalkeeper Noah Phillips on a three-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old has made six appearances for the O's this season but boss Richie Wellens said last week that he would be willing to loan him out to gain more experience.

Lee Cattermole's side, who play away at Kidderminster on Wednesday, have taken four points from their opening six league matches.

Boreham Wood have signed experienced striker Conor Wilkinson from Solihull Moors on a short-term loan deal until mid-December.

The 31-year-old has played for numerous EFL clubs including Walsall, Leyton Orient and Gillingham.

He arrives after two seasons in the National League with Solihull Moors finishing as top-scorer with 13 league goals in 2024-2025, and a further nine goals in 25 league appearances last season.

Forest Green Rovers captain Kyle McAllister says he is out of contract at the end of the season for the first time in his four years at the club.

The 27-year-old joined Forest Green in 2022 and has played 184 league games, taking the captain's armband this campaign after previously sharing the duties.

Yet McAllister said he is unsure where his future lies with his current deal expiring next summer.

"I'm out of contract this year, so [I] just want a good year try and do the best for the team, try and get promoted and then at the end of the season we'll see what happens," McAllister told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

So far this season, the midfielder has scored three goals in seven league games, providing a further three assists.

Manager Robbie Savage called him "the best player in the league" following their win 4-0 win against Gateshead on Saturday.

McAllister said: "It's the first time I've been out of contract since I've been here - it's an exciting time, I guess, come to the end of the season and being out of contract, but you never know what could happen. I'll be ready for anything."
