Goodbye Ainsley!

Tonight, celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott became the fourth contestant – and fourth male celebrity - to depart the dance floor, after battling it out with Jamelia and Tristan in the dreaded dance-off.

Ainsley and Natalie’s Jive to ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll’ left them rolling towards the bottom of the leader board on Saturday night, with a total of 21 points, and a position of third from last. Jamelia and Tristan’s Foxtrot to ‘Because You Loved Me’, which scored them a total of 26 points and a position fifth from bottom of the leader board, proved to be a bigger hit with the Judges when they danced a second time to try and save their place in the competition. But although all four Judges chose to save Jamelia and Tristan, it wasn’t easy. Darcey admitted: “I so enjoyed both performances and this is incredibly difficult.”

But someone had to go, and sadly this week, it was the fun and friendly culinary king, Ainsley. He’s cooked up a storm on the dance floor and has loved his Strictly experience, telling Tess: “It’s been absolutely amazing. I’m sad that it can’t continue but I made a couple of mistakes and the Judges are spot on… I’m sad for you, Natalie, I really am. I wanted to push on a little bit more but it wasn’t meant to be.”
