Guernsey FC should have scored more goals in their 6-2 win at Crawley Down Gatwick, according to manager Tony Vance.
The islanders faced the Sussex side for the first time since a club-record 11-0 win on 1 January 2014 and took just two minutes as to get off the mark as Sam Murray reacted quickest after his initial shot was saved.
Charlton Gauvain - making his 200th appearance for the Green Lions - made it 2-0 10 minutes later as he headed in his 38th goal for the club since his debut as a 16-year-old.
Rhys White pulled one back for the hosts after 28 minutes, but Murray completed his hat-trick with two goals shortly before the interval as Guernsey led 4-1 at half-time.
Substitute Harvey Burgess made it 4-2 with his first touch nine minutes after the restart, but any fears of a comeback were laid to rest as Guernsey substitute Frazer Maginnis made it 5-2 with 19 minutes left.
Brandon Wallace rounded off the scoring in stoppage time as Guernsey's fourth successive win saw them consolidate fifth place in the Southern Combination Premier Division.
"I don't think we made easy work of it," Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey.
"First 20 minutes I thought we were brilliant and went 2-0 up and looked like we were going to go and dominate.
"They made a slight change and then we we started getting comfortable and started sort of flicking the ball and trying to score perfect goals and just got into our comfort zone too easily
"We gave away a poor goal, and really and truthfully we should have been a lot more goals ahead, but we got over it in the end so it's pleasing to get it out of the way, but we could have probably made things a bit easier for ourselves."
