Anastacia leaves Strictly

Halloween Week was a night of horrors for all our couples, but none more so than Anastacia and Brendan Cole, who became the sixth couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2016.

After receiving 25 points from the Judges for their Jive to Meat Loaf's 'Bat out of Hell', Anastacia and Brendan found themselves bottom of the leaderboard. And when news came of the bottom two couples following the public vote, the pair found themselves up against Daisy Lowe and Aljaz Skorjanec in the dreaded Dance Off.

This was Anastacia's third time in the bottom two, and her second Dance Off. The Judges unanimously voted to save Daisy and Aljaz, although they were quick to praise Anastacia before sending her on her way. Bruno Tonioli said: "I’d like to say both girls put up a fierce fight. I like that, fighters to the end."

From her Week One Cha Cha which Craig described as "absolute filth" and put her 4th on the leaderboard, to her serious Week Two injury that meant she had to sit out the Dance Off, to her highest score in Week Five with Gorka Marquez deputising for a sick Brendan, it's been quite the rollercoaster for Anastacia.

"I’ve really enjoyed being here," said Anastacia. "This was a place for me to get to know my 'female' and this place allowed me to do that. The hair, the make-up, the production, the judges gave me great comments, you (Tess) and Claudia have been amazing, the way you run this family, this family is beautiful. And you (Brendan) are amazing. Thanks for everything.”

Brendan was full of kind words for his dance partner: "This programme will miss you. I will miss you. Thank you for teaching me so much about everything and for being a fantastic partner. Thank you so much, what a great ride!"
