Galants – Out of Sight

Monday 26th October, 2015

They say: "Out of Sight is a tune that was originally born on an acoustic guitar in a dingy North London bedroom many years ago. In all honesty it was never written with a band in mind and was almost completely forgotten about until a sparse demo of it re-surfaced from the depths of a hard drive last Christmas. In the practice room it essentially transformed into some sort of Kevin Shields and J Mascis lovechild -  we are fairly unapologetic about wearing our influences on our sleeves and this track is no different. When it came to the mixing stage, we felt it was lacking something in the middle section and hence we called upon the talents of our good friend Connor Walls who plays the wailing guitar solo. That's clearly the best bit - let's make guitar solos happen again."

We say: "Dublin noise excavators, clearly taken by the long fringes and twisted effects of Nineties dream pop. A handsome tune is manhandled and fed through effects pedals but happily its beauty still manages to illuminate.”
