BBC World Service have announced the shortlist for the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year award and voting is now open.

BBC One confirmed that filming underway on the eighth series of Death In Paradise with Ardal O’Hanlon reprising his role as lead detective DI Jack Mooney alongside Joséphine Jobert (DS Florence Cassell), Tobi Bakare (Officer JP Hooper), Don Warrington (Commissioner Selwyn Patterson) and Elizabeth Bourgine (Catherine Bordey).
The network also confirmed an exceptional extended cast to join Suranne Jones in Gentleman Jack, Sally Wainwright's new drama about Anne Lister for BBC One.

Liz Gibbons has been appointed as the new Editor of the Victoria Derbyshire programme.

It was confirmed that Sally Phillips is to take centre stage in BBC Wales star studded comedy season.
Entertainment
This week BBC One revealed the 10 home cooks that will compete in Britain’s Best Home Cook, living in a shared house for the brand new eight-part series hosted by Claudia Winkleman and judged by the queen of home cooking Mary Berry, produce expert Chris Bavin, and top chef Dan Doherty. The media pack for the programme was also published.

BBC One confirmed Countryfile will celebrate its 30th anniversary with series of Royal specials.

CBeebies announced that Sir Elton John is the latest star to read a Bedtime Story.
Elsewhere, CBBC has confirmed more top names for its first ever family festival: including teen music sensations Max and Harvey, YouTube star Sophia Grace, kids music phenomenon KIDZ BOP and popular Britain’s Got Talent dance act, Mersey Girls.
National
BBC Wales have announced the successful candidates chosen for the first BBC Wales New Documentary Directors’ Initiative.
BBC Wales also confirmed details of The Family Farm a series where three families from across the UK ditch the 9-5 in search of a better work-life balance and the experience of a lifetime high in the mountains of Snowdonia, with the help of hill farmer Gareth Wyn Jones and wildlife presenter Kate Humble.
Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland fresh off his victory over Nonito Donaire, boxer Carl Frampton went back to his old school, Glengormley High School, to tell the story of how he made it to the top of the boxing world for BBC Super Assembly.
International
BBC World Service announced that the future of digital media in the Western Balkans will be the main theme of a major conference in Belgrade organised by the BBC’s Serbian service.
