Last night (Sunday 24 November) the Children’s BAFTAs (British Academy of Film and Television Awards) were held at a ceremony in London, and the BBC was awarded in nine of the 25 categories. CBeebies claimed the Channel of the Year award.
Former Blue Peter editor Biddy Baxter took home the Special Award for her outstanding contribution to children’s media.
The full list of BBC winners is as follows:
- Horrible Histories – Best Comedy
- Timmy Time (pictured) – Best Pre-school Animation
- The Dumping Ground – Best Drama
- CBeebies' Ugly Duckling – Best Pre-school Live Action
- Help! My Supply Teacher Is Still Magic – Best Entertainment show
- Operation Ouch! – Best Factual
- Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes – Best Presenter (for Sam & Mark’s Big Friday Wind-up)
- Bobby Lockwood – Best Performer (for his performance in the CBBC drama Wolfblood)
- CBeebies – Children’s Channel of the Year
