The hunt for new Welsh sounds continues

This week's show is brought to you by the number 4, the words 'rammed', 'full', 'of', 'sonic' and 'treats', and the letter 'Ff' (I love that Y Ffug song).

I'm not trying to shape the kinds of music that get sent to me but I'm very keen to hear from Wales' sonic extremities. I must have written a blog here about how civilised, comfy and nice music broadcasting (TV and radio) has become. That's all very lovely, safe and to be applauded but music (mostly) evolves and moves forward because of pressure and influence from the hinterlands.

This show is happy to be home to the hinterland... nothing to do with BBC Wales' Hinterland, but how good is that?

You can send music to me (the track you regard as being your best) either via the BBC Introducing Uploader or direct to my inbox [email protected] (where you can also send gig info, new releases and any other correspondence). A short, factual biog is best, good music does the best talking.

On this week's show, the hunt for fascinating new Welsh sounds continues...

Debut plays come for Casino Thieves, DJ Cymru, Y Ffug, Giving In To Ghosts and The Hollows.

Lara Catrin translates something echoey and wonderful from Endaf Gremlin.

Ben 'Soundhog' Hayes talks about the Top of the Pops compilation LPs of the 70s and 80s and plays one of their most intriguing re-recordings.

I do something mortifying down the microphone. My mum's going to kill me, she may even stop my pocket money.

Have an excellent, music-filled week.
