Peter Andre gets the Strictly flava!

Not so mysterious any more! Ladies and gentlemen, behold the latest celebrity to be added to the shiny new line-up: Mr Peter Andre.

Best known for his successful chart-topping singles 'Mysterious Girl' and 'Flava', Peter took the world by storm in the 1990’s becoming the sixth highest selling artist in the world. He returned to the public eye after appearing as a contestant on the third series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2004. If he can survive the extremes of the jungle, surely the Strictly habitat will be a breeze!

When quizzed about what he is most looking forward to, he narrowed it down to three things: “learning new styles of dancing, being part of a big production and getting to dance to live music.”

A lover of dance, Peter is ready to try something completely different to the moves he learned during his pop career, admitting “I’m nervous because it will be a very new experience for me.” However, it seems Peter might already have the perfect teacher in mind: “I’ve met Ola Jordan a few times and we always joked that one day we would partner up on Strictly.”

Although “winning would be the ultimate” for Peter, he insists he would be happy with “doing a great performance every time.” And while there’s little doubt he’ll be getting into the Strictly spirit, you might not find him reaching for the fake tan backstage: “Look, I’m of Greek origin, I can get quite dark so I need to take it easy on the fake tan!”

British-born to Greek Cypriot parents, Peter moved to Australia when he was six years old. His music career began at 16 years old when he became a contestant on Hey Hey It’s Saturday on which he was offered a recording contract. Upon the release of Mysterious Girl in 1995, he soon racked up numerous hit singles, two number one albums and toured the globe. In 2004, he reached the final of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Since then, he has made numerous television appearances including a reality series with his then wife Katie Price, Peter Andre: My Life and Peter Andre’s 60 Minute Makeover. He has also continued to release music, including Revelation in 2009 and his sixth studio album Accelerate in 2010.

Peter has two children with his former wife Katie Price, called Junior and Princess. He recently remarried to Emily MacDonagh, with whom he has a baby daughter called Amelia.
