MK Dons defender Jack Sanders has been banned for three matches for violent conduct during Saturday's FA Cup second-round victory against Oldham Athletic.
The incident happened as the Dons took the lead in the 42nd minute through Joe Tomlinson's fine volley.
Centre-back Sanders appeared to tangle with Latics defender Dynel Simeu as the ball was crossed into the box in the build up the the goal.
In a statement, the FA said "the player's behaviour around the 42nd minute wasn't seen by the match officials at the time, but was caught on video and it was alleged subsequently that this constitutes violent conduct".
Sanders, who was taken off at half-time, denied the charge but an independent regulatory commission found it to be proven and imposed the suspension.
MK Dons beat Oldham 3-1 and will play Championship side Oxford United in the third round of the FA Cup in January.
