Available for over a year
2021 has been quite a year for weather and the climate. We’ve witnessed horrendous wildfires in the Arctic, devastating floods and storms across Europe and Asia. The United States was recently battered by powerful tornados. In November, leaders from around the globe arrived in Glasgow for the climate summit, COP26. The eyes of the world were on the summit – which was full of pledges and promises. Questions remain over whether those pledges can be turned into action. Meanwhile, the planet continues to get warmer and our climate continues to change. And we’re seeing that change all over the world, on a regular basis. BBC Correspondents, Victoria Gill and Matt McGrath, are experts on the environment – they were both in Glasgow for COP26 and have spent the year covering these dramatic weather events. For 5 Minutes On, they discuss how climate change became very real in 2021.
