George Fenlon had a "charismatic nature", his family says
A man has been charged with murdering a new father who died three months after he was assaulted.
George Fenlon, 23, suffered head injuries in an attack in the early hours of 15 August on The Strand in Blackpool, Lancashire Police said.
He died in hospital on 22 November.
Rhys Jones, 26, of Cannock, Staffordshire, who was initially arrested in September on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, has now been charged with murder.
Paying tribute to Mr Fenlon, his family said: "George had a warm and unique personality and charismatic nature.
"His personality reflected his happy, go with the flow nature.
"During his traumatic time in hospital, real love and affection was shown from friends, colleagues, and family throughout, until his last days and hours."
They said he was able to meet his newborn daughter when she was five hours old, and although he was "unable to talk or see her" it would be a "cherished memory", adding: "His loveable and warm spirit will be with her forever."
