A man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was attacked in the street in Mansfield.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to Market Place at 16:47 GMT on Wednesday to reports of the assault and the victim, a man in his 30s, remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Aiden Tyler, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted murder, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to two other victims.

The 25-year-old has also been charged with affray after an earlier incident in Ladybrook Lane and was remanded into custody, the force said,

He is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 30 January.
