The main route between the north of the Isle of Man and its capital will remain closed for a fourth day due to icy conditions.

The Department of Infrastructure issued an emergency road closure for the A18 Mountain Road on Sunday due to the deteriorating weather conditions and a crash on the road.

Following an inspection, the department said the road would stay shut between Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg Ny Baa until Thursday at 12:00 GMT.

It comes after the island was hit by severe travel disruption due to snow and ice on Monday, with Ronaldsway Met Office now warning of potential wintry showers over hills on Friday.
