A cyclist has died after a crash with a car in a town centre.

The collision happened in Churchill Road (A1101), at the junction with Norwich Road in Wisbech at about 17:50 GMT on Friday, when the cyclist crashed with a silver Vauxhall Corsa.

Cambridgeshire Police said the cyclist, who was 50 years old, was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where he died on Sunday.

A 19-year-old woman who was driving the Vauxhall was uninjured and is assisting police with the investigation, the force said.

The road was closed in both directions at the time of the collision and police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to get in touch.
