Man in court charged with New Year's Eve murder

A 34-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 65-year-old woman on New Year's Eve.
Michael Bowen, of Maple Gardens, Yateley, appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court accused of killing Janet Bowen.
Police had been called at about 09:40 GMT on Wednesday after receiving a report she had been found dead at the address.
Mr Bowen was remanded in custody to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Monday.
