Police are appealing for information after two "loved" pet parrots were reported stolen from Worksop.

Nottinghamshire Police said a property on Stillwell Gardens was broken into in the early hours of Friday morning.

The macaw parrots - one named Percy, and the other called Polly - are believed to have been taken after suspects gained entry through a window, the force added.

Percy has blue, yellow and green feathers, while Polly has red and blue markings with grey feathers on her stomach.

PC Alice Braben said: "Percy and Polly's family are understandably very upset about losing their loved pets.

"Macaw parrots need specific care, so their family are anxious to ensure they are safe.

"We also understand that these types of birds are valuable and may be advertised online, so if you spot them for sale, or in an unusual setting, please report it."
