Exploring time through cathedral's immersive show
The light show experience is designed to promote reflection, the diocese says

Blackburn Cathedral will be illuminated as part of an immersive sound and light show exploring time.
As part of a national tour, Luxmuralis will run in the cathedral every evening until 28 February.
The projections include text from HG Wells' The Time Machine and the inner workings of clocks.
The Rev Canon Andrew Horsfall, interim dean of Blackburn said the "multi-sensory experience invites reflection, wonder and shared discovery and the stunning beauty of Blackburn Cathedral is the perfect setting".
The cathedral is celebrating its centenary
Created by sculptor Peter Walker and composer David Harper, the immersive installation will turn the building into a moving artwork.
It is the latest of a number of events taking place in 2026 as part of the cathedral's centenary celebrations.
Luxmuralis has previously done light installations at St Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey, as well as in the United States and Germany.
