5 ways to survive your SATs
SATs might seem like the most terrifying things in the world right now (aside from when your mum catches you trying to stay up late, obviously), but they don't need to be! Here are five handy tips to help you survive your SATs. Don't forget to add your own ideas!

Leave a trail of notes

If you've been revising but you're struggling to remember certain things, write little notes with information on and stick them around the house in places you'll see regularly.
Need to remember a tricky spelling? Stick it on the bathroom mirror! Prime numbers? Put one on each step! Of course, you'll need to ask a grown-up's permission, but they'll probably have great ideas for where you can put your notes.
A funny accent

When you're writing something it can be easy to miss your own mistakes. Try to read over what you've written in a funny accent or different voice. That way you'll have to really concentrate on what you're reading and you'll spot any mistakes! This also works for when you're writing during your tests, but maybe keep the funny voice to inside your head.
Give it a tune

If there's something you really need to remember - like a spelling, or a science or maths formula - try to word it to the tune of a song you like. Then all you'll have to do is sing the song in your head and you should remember all that secret information!
Extra tip: nursery rhymes work a treat, because the tunes are really simple to remember! Thanks again, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
Explain it to a friend

When you think you know something, try explaining it to a friend. If you really understand it, you'll be able to answer their questions on it, and if you don't you'll at least know which bits you have left to learn.
Plus, you might end up really helping your friend to understand something!
Relax

This is the biggest one! SATs are important, but you definitely shouldn't be stressing about them! (It won't be the end of the world, promise!) Once you've done your revision, take some time off the night before and make sure you relax. An early night will definitely beat going over your 9 times tables for the millionth time. Just get your rest in!
