5 superpowers that snakes have

If you think snakes were just normal, ordinary animals think again...

They capture air particles between the fork of their tongues, and that lets them know if there are any predators nearby. A tongue that can sense a baddie from afar is one of the greatest superpowers around.

Snakes have clear scales over their eyes to protect them - kind of like built-in goggles - so they never need to blink. Why is that a superpower? They'd beat a super villain at a staring contest every time.

Snake fossils have been found alongside dino fossils, which means they are super old. Surviving pretty much everything for millions of years definitely qualifies as super.

Some snakes can protect themselves by biting and injecting venom into other animals, which can immobilise and kill them. Pretty scary!

If ever you've been trying to sneak up on a super villain but your silly human body is too clunky to edge round a corner, you'll be really jealous of this power. Snakes can bend around corners, fit into small spaces and absolutely ruin your hide-and-seek record.
