Top 5 things about half term
Going to school and seeing your mates every day can be fun, but let's be honest: half term is sacred for many reasons. Here are just a few of the absolute best things about half term...

1) Lie ins

You know when you're having the best dream ever and the alarm clock for school goes off, and you've lost that dream forever? Well not during half term! You can carry on saving the world from villains and giant meteors, completely uninterrupted by that horrid ding-ding of your wake up call. Snore away!
2) Seeing your mates in real person clothes

Uniform's fine and all that, but not wearing it for a week feels like you're wearing an ultra-visibility cape, and seeing what your mates wear to play out can be really funny. Did you even know there were other colours they could wear?! Suddenly they look like completely different people, and that's kinda cool. (Plus there's no chance that the funny-but-not-really mate in the group will try to peanut your tie, so there's that.)
3) Seeing what you can get away with at your grandparents' house

When your grown ups have to work during half term, and you get to go stay with your grandparents or a family friend, it's definitely fun to see what you can get away with.
"Yeah, my mum always lets me have ice cream for breakfast. Always."
"Of course I'm allowed to stay up this late. Dad never sends me to bed before watching five more episodes of The Next Step."
(Hint: they never buy it.)
4) FINALLY beating the boss level of that game

It is literally the hardest level ever. And you've finally beat it, thanks to glorious free time over half term. Now SAVE SAVE SAVE, cause if the power goes, it'll all have been for nothing!
5) Practise creative excuses for putting off your homework

"Well, obviously I can't do my homework now, a frog stole my pens. All of them."
No matter how determined you are to get your homework out the way at the beginning of break, leaving it til the last day is bound to happen. Obviously you'll get it done, but laaaaater. The best way to avoid doing your homework is to come up with a million excuses for why you're not doing your homework. Sure, you could use that time to get it done so you're not panic writing on Sunday night, but where's the fun in that?
