How to get Blue Peter badges

Find out about each Blue Peter badge and discover how you can join the club and get your hands on one!

Let's start with the basics... A Blue Peter badge is a special award given to the amazing people who appear on the show.

If you are aged 5-15, you can earn a Blue Peter badge by applying online or by post, or by winning or being a runner-up in one of our competitions.

There are several different badges you can apply for...

Every badge is different, so please take the time and read about each badge. You can only apply for one badge at a time and each badge has a set of questions to answer, so watch Blue Peter, tell us why you’re applying and send any photos, pictures or video to support your submission.

Once you’ve decided which badge you’d like, all you need to do is log into your own BBC account, get permission from your parent or guardian, fill in your details and carefully apply for the badge of your choice.

Your My Blue Peter profile will keep a handy record of what badges you’ve already got, as well as your badge ID number and Badge ID card details. If you need any help using My Blue Peter head to the FAQs page.

Blue badges are awarded to fans of the show who send interesting letters, stories, makes, pictures, poems and good ideas to show on the programme. You might see your creation on Blue Peter, so watch to see if your picture is featured!

Book badges are awarded to kids who love books and reading. To earn this badge, tell us about a book you’ve read and draw a character or scene from the book. We'd also love to hear about any books that have sparked your imagination. Find out more about the Book badge here.

Green badges are awarded to kids who are passionate about nature and the environment. To earn this badge, tell us what you’ve done to help protect the planet. Find out more about the Green badge here.

Music badge are awarded to kids who show off their passion for music by learning a new instrument or take part in a musical performance. To earn this badge, tell us how you enjoy making music. Find out more about the Music badge here.

Orange badges are only awarded to winners and runners up of Blue Peter competitions. Find out about more about Blue Peter competitions here.

Gold badges are very rare and only awarded to individuals for extraordinary achievements. Applications are by letter only. Find out more about the Gold badge and how to apply here.

As well as having a cool badge to show off to your mates, your own BP badge brings with it the power to gain access to over 200 Blue Peter badge attractions around the country for free!

Badge attractions include exciting days out at theme parks, zoos, gardens, castles and many more. Check out all the Blue Peter badge attractions here. 

Before you visit any of the attractions, grab a grown-up and read the Blue Peter Terms and Conditions, you will need to show your badge ID card from My Blue Peter and please remember to check individual attraction websites before setting out on your journey.
