On the playlist: Låpsley - Painter (Valentine)

On the Radio 1 Playlist this week is Låpsley and her track Painter (Valentine). As the BBC Introducing representative on the station’s playlist, the track will get played on daytime shows including Fearne Cotton, Scott Mills and Greg James. Listen to the track and find out more about her below.

Hometown: Låpsley (aka Holly Lapsley Fletcher) hails from Liverpool.

Style: Playing piano, guitar and oboe, she’s a multi-instrumentalist with a classical background, producing songs since the age of 12. Her sound is full of wonderfully delicate production, uniquely led by a mix of spellbinding vocal lines, pitch shifted or sung in octaves.

You need to know: This track is her debut single, which she produced in her bedroom whilst revising for her A-Levels. Since then she’s expanded her sound for live shows, including a stunning performance on our stage at Glastonbury this summer, watch her performance here.
