Hometown: Simon Stark, Rich Leeds, Andy Thompson and new guitarist Tom Ludlow make up Lyger, an up-and-coming alternative rock band from London.

Style: If you like rock, you’re bound to love Lyger. The band takes the best bits of grunge, punk and rock and infuses them together to make a hard-hitting track like Power Struggle. Simon, Rich, Andy and Tom have written the formula for a perfect pop-rock track here; with punchy hooks, solid riffs, a high-powered and crowd-inspiring chorus, all immersed in energetic percussion, you have a track set to uplift an audience and get their hearts racing.

You need to know: If their record producers’ success is anything to go by, Lyger are set for big things. Their debut track released in 2013, Stroke, was recorded and mixed by Rory Atwell, who has produced for The Vaccines and Palma Violets. He worked with them again on Power Struggle alongside Chris Sheldon, a legendary rock record producer who has worked with Biffy Clyro, Garbage, Feeder and most notably Foo Fighters, including on their iconic hit album The Colour and The Shape.

Supported by: Lyger have found many fans across our BBC Introducing network since sending their tracks to the Uploader. BBC Introducing in London have been backing Power Struggle from the very start, as well as receiving plays from BBC Introducing in the East Midlands and from Jen Long and Ally McCrae on their Radio 1 Introducing show.
