Abandcalledboy – Pure Nostalgia

They say: "'Pure Nostalgia' started as a pop song Ryan had written, then when recording it we decided to tear it apart and add a lot of abrasive elements. Big influences were things like surf and shoegaze music when writing the original. It's fairly noisy but it's still probably the most 'pop' song we have!"
We say: “We felt a bit silly referring to Abandcalledboy as ‘cheeky chappies’ on air, like we’d suddenly morphed into tabloid journalists talking about Take That in 1993. But why not? There’s certainly plenty of cheeky riffs and playful lyrics in everything they’ve released to date - and ‘Pure Nostalgia’ is no different. Slacker rock done right.”
